How many times have you said to yourself that you would like to give more hands on help to the strays our charity helps? To the shelters our charity helps?
Well now you can with Action Aid for Animals new initiative.
The AAFA Taskforce will be organised by us for groups of volunteers to travel to Romania, Croatia and elsewhere and really be at the grass roots of helping the rescued strays.
You would be volunteering for a whole range of duties ( See list below) and we all will be sharing equally these jobs and working as a team. There are only a few exceptions to whom we would allow as part of the task force but in general if you can pick up a painting brush, bang a hammer onto a nail, sweep floors, and of course care and tend to the strays then you will be more than welcome.

DESTINATION CRAIOVA
DATE 21ST - 27TH JULY 2013
Costs:
As a charity we are always looking out for ways to keep costs low. On average will work out to be no more than £200 per person this will pay for the return flight, accommodation and breakfast, transport to and from the shelter. The rest, will be covered by yourself.
Accomodation:
Unless you have an aversion to sharing a room with another, you will be sharing a hotel room with a same sex taskforce member. and the entire group whenever possible will be staying in the same hotel.
The room itself will always consist where possible of having air con and an ensuite bathroom, also will include breakfast. Please be aware that if you decide to go crazy with the mini bar in your room, you will be paying for this not us.
Flight:
Always a cheap as chips airline will be chosen, so don't expect massive legroom and couch style seating. We will book all tickets for you in advance once you confirm your place etc.
Transport:
You will be expected to make your own way to the airport, obviously where possible if others are traveling your way we will encourage car sharing. Parking at the airport is extra again we can organise this when booking your tickets. if you go for this option this is your choice to pay the extra amount required.
Once you have landed at destination be it Romania, Croatia etc we will be hiring a transporter/minibus to collect you all and be taken to your hotel.
Travel and Medical Insurance:
Though you are our volunteer you will be travelling and helping at the shelter etc as an individual. So you will be expected to organise and pay for your own insurance
Clothing:
If you choose to wear designer top range clothing that is totally up to you, we will not be held liable for your choice of clothing nor if it gets damaged, stained etc. We will be adding a list shortly of sensible old clothes and footwear to bring with you.
If you have any questions please do contact us info@actionaidforanimals.com
Exceptions:
ALL Taskforce volunteers MUST be over the age of 18, ALL taskforce members must work as a team applying themselves to ALL duties and taking there fair share in everything that is needed to be done. The only exceptions to this rule are those with special needs or disability.
Remember guys we are a grass roots charity, we roll up our sleeves and get stuck in alongside everyone else, we expect the same from anyone who travels with us or under our charity umbrella. This really will not be a sightseeing holiday...This is full on animal rescue/welfare which means do expect to be get filthy and to work hard but at the end of it, you really would have been saving lives and making life better for the animals already in the care of the shelters etc we visit.
